Team Aero Lewis Racing drivers Aaron Scott (aaronscott.co.uk) and Keith Ahlers were at Silverstone on August 15 for rounds 11 & 12 of the British GT Cup Championship.

Saturday qualifying saw disaster strike as an oil leak from the engine caused a fire during Keith's qualifying stint. The fire caused major damage to the car and it looked like the team were out for the weekend. However with a big turn out from sponsors Omnico and Aerospace Fasteners the team took the decision to hire in another Morgan and try and score some points.

The new car arrived on Saturday evening and the team set about preparing it for Sundays two races, this car had not raced since last season and so there was a fair amount of work to be done. Aaron and Keith were able to finish in 5th position in race one despite starting from the back of the grid. They went on to finish 8th in the 2nd race of the wekend despite losing nearly a lap in a somewhat chaotic safety car period.

Aaron said, " I'd like to thank the team for all their efforts in getting Keith and I into the race today. I'm pleased to have scored points given the situation and hope we can re group in time for Thruxton and find our form again."

The next races at Thruxton take place on August 29 & 30.
