Sales triple in Germany and America is almost ready for the Aero 8

The first half of this year has seen sales of Morgan sports cars to the German market triple, with orders placed for 90 cars, compared to the average of 30 for the same period in previous years. This represents a record figure in the Company’s history.

"There has been an unprecedented increase in sales figures across the board in the last six months, most notably within the German market. The introduction of the 35th anniversary edition Plus 8 and the entry-level 4/4 ‘Runabout’ has undoubtedly set pulses racing but we have also been working very hard to reduce waiting times and expand our dealer networks worldwide," explained Matthew Parkin, Sales & Marketing Director.

Germany, traditionally Morgan’s second biggest market behind the UK, has a significant existing network of dealerships located in key cities - Merz & Pabst in Stuttgart, Morgan Munich and Flaving Morgan-Importeur in both Unna and Berlin. It has also recently been strengthened by the addition of Auto-Koenig GmbH, Munich.

Parkin continues: "Last year did see a marginal decline in trading for all small scale motor manufacturers but today’s figures can give us confidence in the future."

The forthcoming year is an exciting one for the Morgan Motor Company, with unit sales up across the range, further product development underway and a delivery guarantee of 12 months from order. Also, early 2004 will see the long-awaited launch of the revolutionary aluminium-intensive Aero 8 to the US market, having completed the extensive process of gaining federal approval. In preparation, two new dealers have been appointed to handle the already considerable demand.
