Night and Day Morgan Works Team finishes the Le Mans 24 hour race

222 laps, over 3,000 kilometres, one car, three drivers, 25 technicians and back up crew, countless cups of coffee and above all… a desire to finish what was started. The Morgan Works team has finished the 72nd Le Mans 24-hour race and it matters not a jot that not enough laps may have been completed for the team to be officially classified in the final standings. It’s the taking part – and the finishing – that really counts to this team.

“Morgan has had a great adventure,” said Team Manager, David Dowse. “To have worked as hard as we have to get here and still be running when the chequered flag was waved is an indescribable feeling.

A prestigious award was bestowed upon four team members in the form of the ESCRA prize for the best technical assistance crew in the race. David Bradley, Mark Baldwin, John Burbidge and Roger Vancamelbecke were awarded the silverware in the pit garage and were in good company – previous winners include Porsche, Ferrari, Bugatti and Jaguar, to name but a few. “It was a proper team effort,” explains Crew Chief, Mark Baldwin. “The award is for each and every team member, not just us four. It’s a brilliant achievement and we are proud to receive it.”
