MORGAN SET TO IMPRESS NY AUTO SHOW ATTENDEES Long-Awaited Aero 8 Makes its East Coast Debut New York, April 5, 2004 – for immediate release The hottest car at the Los Angeles Auto Show will soon be unveiled in New York. Morgan Motors’ new Aero 8 turned heads – and wallets – in LA: Over 90 of the 100 cars allotted for the U.S. in 2004 were sold within hours of hitting the market. Bearing a £58,500 price tag, car aficionados and luxury-minded individuals lined up for their chance to own a new Aero 8. The Aero 8 is designed for those looking to distinguish themselves from the crowd. Offered in more than 35,000 colors and boasting a shape protected by the Trademarks Registry, it was one of the finalists in Robb Report’s “Car of the Year” contest. If its reception at the LA Auto Show is any indication, the Aero 8 can expect to cause a flurry of excitement in New York. “For years, people asked when we’d sell a sportier automobile,” notes Charles Morgan, Managing Director of Morgan Motors. “We have answered by creating the lightest production V-8 sports car in the world. Constructed of a high-tech aluminium chassis, a traditional Ash wood body frame and ‘Superform’ molded aluminium panels, the Aero 8 takes sports cars to another level. We’ve also added the latest BMW V8 engine, our own lightweight suspension system, and precise power-assisted steering to create one of the best-performing automobiles on the market.” Superb craftsmanship—with hand-made detail—has enabled the Aero 8 to prove itself on the world’s top racing circuits. Racecars based closely on the road-going Aero 8 placed 2nd and 3rd at the British GT Championship—and now threaten the long-established domination of Porsche and Ferrari. The MorganWorks Team’s Aero 8 GT finished well in the recent Sebring 12 hour Race and heads for the gruelling Le Mans 24 hour race in June. According to Charles Morgan, the Aero 8 also boasts critical safety features. “The Aero 8 is incredibly strong and safe, and has passed all inspections and tests with flying colors. It is a fantastic driver’s car that delivers the unique pleasure of a highly responsive, powerful and sure-footed machine.” About Morgan Morgan Motors is the oldest privately owned motor company in the world. The cars are hand-crafted by a dedicated staff of 159 employees at the family factory in England. Three hundred Aero 8’s are expected to be produced each year—with 200 coming to the States. For those interested in purchasing a Morgan, registered dealers are available across the USA (see www.morgan-motor.co.uk) and ready take orders.
