Bless all for your support and wishes to Clarrie Coombes. I have been informed he passed away Jan. 17th while in hospital . Several things I have not confirmed including pneumonia and old age may have been a factor. I believe his only son from Australia was present. Much has been and will be written about the man and his Morgan three wheeler exploits and articles . It can be said he wrote the book on Morgan trikes and in fact he did; ' The Best of Clarrie'. Published by the MTWC club several years ago . His only vehicles were Morgan trikes : a 1934 Super Sports and an F type with 1500cc Cortina power ! Both were re -skinned by Clarrie in alloy so perfect he never bothered to paint them . Work shops were held every fort - night at his modest bungalow. His machine shop and merry men turning out obsolete bits from a by - gone era .He supervised it all. Perhaps we can best remember him through his oft modest quote.. " three wheels are enough " ...chris towner
