Podium finish at Donington for Ahlers and Scott

Aaron Scott ( and Keith Ahlers were at Donington Park on April 3 & 4 for Rounds 1 and 2 of the British GT Championship.

The pair are driving a Lewis Racing run Morgan Aero 8 this season and are expected to be amongst the leading contenders for this year's Cup Class Championship.

Qualifying took place on Saturday morning with the pair qualifying in 4th and 5th positions for the 2 races.

Race 1 on Saturday evening bought very tricky conditions and Keith opted to start the race on slick tyres after a rain shower before the start. This dropped the car to the back of field and the pair worked their way up to 6th position by the end of the race. Aaron drove the 2nd fastest lap of the race during his stint.

Aaron started race 2 on Sunday and immediately worked his way up to 2nd place at the start. Keith took over the car and managed to finish the race in 3rd place scoring the duos first podium of the season.

Aaron said, 'I'm really pleased with our weekends work. This is the first time the car has run in anger this year and we are sure we can make it faster as the season goes on. The Porsche and Ferrari teams are our main rivals but we set 2nd fastest race laps in both races and I'm confident we can take the fight to these teams.'

Rounds 3 & 4 take place at Mondello Park in Ireland on May 8th & 9th.
